The Digital Age – Hallelujah

Yes, It’s very simple. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah… So I will dissect and analyze.

Most people don’t really know what Hallelujah means. It consists of two parts: 1. hallal: the praise of people; 2. Yah: short for Yaweh, the one and only God. Hence, Hallelujah means praise God – and not just any god.

Usually when you hear a sung Hallelujah it’s in a very gentle genre, maybe with a choir, sung in or for a time of reflection. While this isn’t a raging rock anthem, I love that its loud ambience. I think When we see Jesus in heaven, instead of a quiet, timid song we’ll sing a loud and rambuctious HALLELUJAH!

wow, this song made me feel a bit like my heart was ripped out and slightly squeezed-in a good way:) I agree, I can imagine us arriving in heaven and wanting to shout out Hallelujah at the top of our heavenly lungs. But maybe its OK to also just whisper it ever so softly on days where praising God feels a bit more challenging…?
